Praxis Consulting
What I do
I work with small businesses, start-ups, grassroots organizations, community collectives, small groups & non-profits to help them apply and translate abolitionist, anti-capitalist, anarchist, social justice values to their initiatives and work-place infrastructure. I also serve as a facilitator for team/ community building retreats, conflict mediation & anti-carceral accountability processes, and do workshops on political praxis, neurodiversity, mental health & trauma (systemic/ interpersonal) ‘healing’ thru an abolitionist lens . I do this consulting as a harm reduction strategy for working class people to have access to more equitable, less exploitative workplaces & community spaces that are committed to mobilizing & redistributing resources to empower communities to be self-sustainable. The ultimate goal is for us to cope with capitalism while divesting from & dismantling it entirely. To this end, I do not work with corporations.

What are the stages of our collaboration?
-
I first meet with the key point people bringing me in to get background on existing ecosystem dynamics, needs, wants, & gaps that need to be addressed. We then identify any additional insight I need (if needed) and craft a plan for me to get more data or talk to other members of the organization to construct both a “bird’s eye” overview of the infrastructure or “problem” we are dealing with and connect the dots between key actors/ initiatives to get the “on the ground” picture.
I ensure I have answers to the following questions by the end of this process:
1) What problems are we addressing?
2) Who are we serving & solving these problems problems for?
3) How big of an impact can we have & how much can we transform relative to the existing infrastructure? (Defining boundaries)
4) Why are these problems urgent to solve now?
5) What resources, people & partnerships do I have access to as support on this endeavor?
We use this information to create a list of goals and specific aims for our collaboration.

I critically analyze all the information we gather from the assessment phase to ensure that in this “report-back” stage, I provide you with the following insights:
A selection of different effective, sustainable & bold solutions or paths we can explore to achieve our goals
I incorporate your insight & feedback as we collaboratively decide on a plan or path to pursue
I detail the benefits and limitations of the selected plan so we can adapt or proceed
We then create a thorough strategy, timeline & list of actions we will take
The plan may involve training or educational workshops, skills building sessions, mediation or facilitation of team meetings, execution of research aims, designing & executing organizational or community-based initiatives, carrying out experimental interventions to assess effectiveness, etc.

We implement the strategic plan that we designed thru a framework that bridges social justice values with the scientific method. Our plan’s architecture will be anti-fragile in that it will be driven by a clear vision but malleable & adaptable to evolving needs if they emerge. I incorporate effective, non-hierarchical, feedback loops to assess our progress, garner feedback as we progress in our collaborative relationship & adapt as needed.
We will check-in and de-brief as we progress through our aims, evaluate the impact and I will provide future recommendations so such impact can be sustained long-term.
